Constellation has just received more than $1 billion in contracts by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to supply power to government agencies across the country. This deal also holds Constellation to create energy savings at multiple facilities in the Baltimore region. This includes implementing LED lighting, efficient HVAC systems, and improving building insulation to improve energy conservation.

Robin Carnahan, the GSA administrator, said the deal demonstrates “how the federal government can join major corporate clean energy buyers in spurring new nuclear energy capacity and ensuring a reliable, affordable supply of clean energy for everyone.”

The project is planned to begin at the start of this year and continue over the next 3-4 years. Constellation will begin their planning for these jobs in the coming weeks and executing them in no time.

The nation’s largest producer of clean, carbon-free, and abundant energy aims to invest in their current power-generating infrastructure to increase their output. Constellation will contribute to the foundation of American power generation as the country, along with many around the world search for solutions to the global warming crisis.
